Police Respond to Disorderly Conduct, a Downtown Fight and Vandalism

Here's a roundup of news reported to the Oakland County Sheriff's Department and Rochester Police Department this week.

A clerk at on Crooks Road called police early Saturday to report a customer being belligerent, disturbing and smelling of intoxicants.

According to a report from the , the man entered the gas station around 3 a.m. and was talking loudly on his cell phone and bothering the clerk and customers. He stayed for almost two hours.

When sheriff's deputies arrived, the man, who was from Sterling Heights, was sitting on the floor. He told sheriff's deputies he had been at a house party nearby and his friends would not come get him and take him home. He was cited for disorderly conduct.

Police break up downtown fight

broke up a fight outside on Main Street early Sunday morning. According to a report, a 26-year-old Shelby Township man told a couple to "get a room" and then "the couple took exception to the comment and assaulted him."

The man suffered a broken nose but did not wish to pursue charges against the couple, a police report stated.

Thefts, vandalism

The following were reported to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office or the Rochester Police Department this week:

  • A resident of Willard Avenue in Rochester Hills told police someone broke into his pole barn and stole his $400 red Honda push lawn mower on Wednesday. A combination lock was found cut off the pole barn door, according to a report.
  • A resident of Hickory Leaf in Rochester Hills told police someone stole golf clubs from his garage, which was open on Monday.
  • A resident of Miners Run in Rochester told police someone put a hole in his Plexiglas basketball backboard on Sunday night or Monday morning. A large rock was found at the scene, a report stated.
