Oakland County Sheriff's Deputy Injured in Crash in Rochester Hills

The patrol car he was driving was rear-ended on Rochester Road, according to a police report.

A 13-year veteran of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office was injured Monday night in an accident on Rochester Road in Rochester Hills. 

The deputy was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Troy where he was treated and released, according to a report from the sheriff's office. 

The incident happened at 6:38 p.m. Monday; the deputy was driving south on Rochester Road and getting ready to turn right onto Drexelgate when the patrol car he was driving was struck from behind, the report stated.

The driver of the car that hit the deputy was a 42-year-old Hartland Township resident; he was not injured and was cited for causing the accident, the report stated.
