No Injuries in Early Morning Rochester Hills House Fire

The fire was contained to the basement, though the house sustained smoke damage, according to the fire chief.

No injuries were reported during a house fire this morning in the 1500 block of Biggers, south of Tienken Road in Rochester Hills.

The Rochester Hills Fire Department responded to the fire, reported at 6:45 a.m., after a homeowner awoke to the smell of smoke, said Rochester Hills Fire Chief Ron Crowell.

"Fire personnel arrived to find smoke coming from the rear of the house," said Crowell. "Firefighters quickly entered the house to find fire in the basement and extinguished the fire."

Crowell said the house received smoke damage but that the fire remained contained to one room in the basement; the cause of the fire remains under investigation but "does not appear suspicious," Crowell said.
