Man Robs CVS Store on Walton in Rochester Hills

Robber pointed his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun and got away with $250 cash, police say.

A man who pointed his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun robbed the store across from while buying a Mountain Dew early Saturday morning, according to an report.

The incident occurred at 3:15 a.m. at the 24-hour CVS store at 3010 Walton Blvd., on the corner of Adams Road, according to the report.

An employee told sheriff's deputies the man, dressed in a grey hoodie and skull cap, "implied that he had a gun by pointing his hand in his pocket" and then tried to grab money out of the cash register. The employee did not see a gun.

The employee fought off the man until the man got behind the counter. The employee then ran to the back of the store and the man took about $250 out of the cash register, the report stated.

The man left the store and drove west on Walton Boulevard in a gold or silver older model Volvo, witnesses told sheriff's deputies.

The man was described as 5 foot 10 inches and about 40 years old. The sheriff's office obtained possible fingerprints from the Mountain Dew bottle left behind; a store video of the incident will be examined Monday.
