Man, Pregnant Wife Arrested After Home Invasion Attempt

Police: Man tried to kick in door of Rochester home.

A pregnant woman and her husband were taken into police custody Jan. 15 after the husband reportedly tried to kick in the door of a woman's home in Rochester, according to Rochester Police.

According to the department, a woman at the 700 block of Bloomer Road in Rochester called 911 to report a man trying to kick open the door of her house. The woman told the dispatcher she yelled at the man while he was attempting to kick in the door, which she said startled the man.

The woman told the dispatcher the man then fled the vehicle in a late-model blue Ford Mustang Convertible with another person.

Police officers reportedly responded to the scene seconds after the call and stopped the vehicle blocks from the home and detained the driver, a 36-year-old Clarkston man, and his pregnant wife, a 30-year-old Rochester Hills woman. The woman in the home was able to correctly identify the man in a police lineup and both the man and his pregnant wife were arrested on charges of attempted home invasion.
