Man Arrested For Strong-Armed Robbery Attempt in Bloomfield Township

Melvin Feizel Boothe is a suspect in separate strong-armed robberies in Bloomfield Township and Rochester Hills.

An Auburn Hills man could face multiple felony charges in a series of jewelry snatching thefts in public parking lots, including the Hollywood Supermarket in Bloomfield Township police said.

Melvin Feizel Boothe, 21, is already charged with one count of unarmed robbery for the daytime theft at the grocery store lot on Dec. 6, according to reports from the Bloomfield Township Police Department. He remains at the Oakland County Jail on $100,000 bond, records show.

Police say Boothe was also involved in a similar jewelry-snatching theft in Rochester Hills and may have been involved in a similar incident in Auburn Hills, where police are investigating.

Authorities in Bloomfield Township received a call about an unarmed robbery shortly after 1 p.m. on Dec. 6, reports said. The victim told officers a man tried to pull her gold chain off her neck, but was only able to snatch the charm. He ran toward South Boulevard and was followed by a witness who confronted the thief and retrieved the locket.

Police shared the suspect's description with area departments, and Boothe was identified later that day when Auburn Hills police officers stopped a vehicle that was reportedly tied to a similar robbery at a Rochester Hills store. Boothe was one of the occupants in the vehicle and confessed to attempted robbery in Bloomfield Township, reports said.

Captain Mike Johnson of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that Boothe may have aided in the Rochester Hills robbery but that the main suspect in that case remains at large. "We believe we know who he is and there is a warrant out for his arrest," Johnson said.

Bye Bye, Hello Prison.

Prison is not the solution where everything is provided for him. Criminals like this one should be sent to a very remote deserted place where they have to sleep on the dirt and struggle to find food and water to survive.
