Man Arrested After Fleeing Deputies, Striking 2 Patrol Cars
59-year-old Rochester Hills man lodged at Oakland County Jail.
A call on a domestic assault Saturday led Oakland County Sheriff's deputies on a short, low-speed police chase that damaged two Sheriff's vehicles and led to the arrest of a 59-year-old Rochester Hills man, according to an incident report.
Oakland County Sheriff's deputies responded Saturday morning to the 2400 block of Gerald Street in Rochester Hills on a report of a domestic assault, the report indicated. The man had reportedly been drinking, is on several medications and threatened family members with a gun, the report indicated. According to the report, the man did not show a gun, but had access to one and also threatened suicide.
Deputies found the man in a vehicle in the subdivision where the initial report had taken place and the man refused to stop, leading deputies on a short, low-speed pursuit through the subdivision, striking two patrol cars, damaging both vehicles, the report indicated.

According to the report, a deputy had to use a Taser on the man after he refused to exit his vehicle.
Deputies arrested the man and took him to McLaren Hospital for minor injuries and a mental health evaluation, where he was released back to Sheriff's deputies. He currently is held at Oakland County Jail awaiting charges.
