Fire Stations On Display This Weekend

It's the start of Fire Prevention Week in Rochester and Rochester Hills.

Next week is Fire Prevention Week, and both the Rochester and Rochester Hills fire departments are gearing up this weekend to educate the community.

  • Tonight: Fire trucks, ambulances and other rescue vehicles from the Rochester Hills Fire Department will be on display from 7-9 tonight at the Auburn Road . Visitors are invited to bring their cameras; there will be demonstrations, and firefighters will be there to talk about what they do.
  • Sunday: From noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, all five Rochester Hills fire stations will be open for visitors. Hot dogs, donuts and cider will be served, and firefighters will give tours.
  • Sunday: In downtown Rochester, the fire department will be open for tours and other activities from noon to 4 p.m. An emergency medical center helicopter will land at the station around 12:30 p.m. and firefighters will hold rope rescue demonstrations and other activities for families.
