Rochester Police were on patrol Sept. 15 in the area of Main and Second when an intoxicated man fled an officer on foot, according to the department.

According to police, the officers were traveling southbound on Walnut when an officer noticed a man step into the street and make two obscene gestures at the police car. When police asked the man for identification, he fled from police on foot through the Village Shoe Inn parking lot.

Officers were able to catch the man, identified as a 28-year-old Rochester Hills resident, behind the Limelight Bar, police said. He was given a preliminary breath test at the Rochester Police Department, where he registered a .208 percent. He was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting a police officer.
