Drunk Driver Caused Afternoon Crash on St. Patrick's Day, Police Say

A 45-year-old Rochester Hills man was seriously injured in the incident, according to the sheriff's office.

A drunk driver caused a three-car collision with serious injuries in Rochester Hills on Sunday afternoon, St. Patrick's Day, police say.

The incident happened at 1:55 p.m. at the intersection of Auburn Road and Barclay Circle.

According to an Oakland County Sheriff's Office report, a 28-year-old Shelby Township man had a blood alcohol level of .130 when he caused the crash. Michigan's legal limit is .08. He was lodged in the Oakland County Jail pending a warrant, the report stated.

A 45-year-old Rochester Hills resident was injured in the crash; he was transported to McLaren Hospital in Pontiac in serious but stable condition, the report stated.
