Driver Reportedly Flees Deputies After Accident at Cider Mill

Woman reportedly eludes deputy after minor collision in Yates Cider Mill parking lot.

A 61-year-old Warren woman reportedly led Oakland County Sheriff's deputies on a short pursuit Sunday after fleeing the scene of a minor accident at Yates Cider Mill, according to the department.

According to the department, witnesses at Yates Cider Mill reported a minor accident in the parking lot. When a deputy tried to speak with the driver responsible for the collision, the driver told a deputy she did not want to speak with him and drove away.

The deputy then followed the driver at the posted speed limit with his sirens and lights activated for about two miles, the department indicated. When the driver stopped for backed-up traffic at Dequindre and Auburn roads, the woman's vehicle was boxed in by several patrol cars and the woman was taken into custody.
