Deputy Uses Taser to Stop Woman, Who Police Say Punched Meijer Worker in Face

She was trying to steal cart of electronics from store, police report says.

A 30-year-old Pontiac woman attempting to steal a shopping cart of electronics from  on Rochester Road on Tuesday night was stopped with a taser after punching a store employee in the face, police said.

The employee, a store loss prevention officer, was not seriously injured, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. The woman "clenched her fists and took an aggressive stance toward the deputy who warned  her to comply or she would be tasered," a report stated. She did not comply, so the deputy used the taser on her. The incident happened at 9:23 p.m. Tuesday.

The woman was arrested for retail fraud and assault and taken to the Oakland County Jail.
