Crime Report: DVDs, Jagermeister the Targets in Attempted Thefts

A Rochester Hills woman reportedly hid DVDs inside the back brace she was wearing.

A 36-year-old Rochester Hills woman is accused of hiding several DVDs inside a back brace she was wearing before walking out of the Rochester Road store without paying for them Thursday. According to an Oakland County Sheriff's department report, store workers saw the woman take the DVDs around 5 p.m. that day and confronted her as she was leaving the store.

Thefts reported at fitness center

A Rochester Hills woman reported that her coat, along with her keys, driver's license and debit card, were stolen Monday from an unlocked locker at . She told Oakland County Sheriff's deputies the coat was taken while she showered in the facility's locker room. There are no suspects.

A week earlier, on Jan. 10, a Rochester Hills man reported that his jacket and wallet were stolen from inside the men's locker room at the fitness center; he told Oakland County Sheriff's deputies he left the jacket on a bench and discovered it missing when he returned.

Woman allegedly tries to take liqueur

A 35-year-old Addison Township woman is accused of hiding a bottle of Jagermeister inside a grocery bag and trying to walk out of without paying for it Jan. 10. Store employees confronted the woman, who was arrested for retail fraud. The bottle of alcohol was valued at $21.47.

Break-in reported

A Lincolnshire Drive homeowner reported that jewelry, a blue safe containing personal papers and a laptop went missing from the home sometime between Jan. 6 and Jan. 8. The homeowners were out of town when the theft occurred, according to an Oakland County Sheriff's report. There are no suspects.

Chocolate milk vandal sought

A Rochester homeowner told Rochester Police that someone tried to intentionally vandalize the complainant's home Jan. 8 by pouring chocolate milk on the property. There are no suspects, according to a Rochester Police report.
