Crime Report: Cigarette Thief Gets 193 Packs From Rochester BP

Cigarettes Stolen from Gas Station

A man used a hammer to smash a window of the on Rochester Road before stealing 193 packs of cigarettes at 4:42 a.m. on Jan. 29, an Oakland County Sheriff's Office report said.

The suspect was seen in surveillance tapes as riding away in a light-colored GMC Jimmy or Blazer with black rims, the report stated.

In true “smoke ‘em if you got ‘em” fashion, his tracks were unable to be photographed because of heavy snowfall. 

Suspicious Man Too Close for Comfort

A stranger who looked to be in his late 50s with gray stubble caused a homeowner to call for help after he pressed his face against the windowpane of her back door on the morning of Jan. 26.

The woman said she tried talking with the man, but he just stared back at her through the glass before leaving. The woman told sheriff's deputies the man fled onto Auburn Road after leaving her property in the 3000 block of Grant Road.
