Ryan Gibbons of Rochester Hills was walking home from McDonald's with four friends when he saw the car catch fire. Gibbons, 14, said the car was involved in an accident with another vehicle. He said he watched a woman escape the car before it went up in flames.

"I was just walking along and then I saw a car on fire. I called 911 and told them, and they were already on the way," he said.
