Boy, 16, Confesses to Robbery Behind Library

He carried an air soft pellet gun, Rochester Police said.

A 16-year-old Rochester boy confessed to the robbery of two Shelby Township teen-agers behind the two weeks ago, Rochester Police said.

The boy's weapon was discovered also: it was an air soft pellet gun, according to police.

The case against the boy has been sent to the Oakland County Prosecutors Juvenile Division.

The couple, a 17-year-old girl and 18-year-old boy from Shelby Township, told police a man approached them on the River Walk behind the library around 10:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8. He showed a handgun and demanded money, according to the teen-agers.

They gave him $25 and he took off; no one was injured.

A lengthy investigation led Rochester Police to the suspect, who confessed during an interview, police said.
