At Least 12 Vehicles Damaged By Fire Hoses on M-59 Roadway

Sheriff's officials: Fire hoses, couplings from Troy fire trucks caused damage to at least 12 vehicles.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies responded late Monday to eastbound M-59 near Rochester Road for reports of several damaged vehicles in the area, according to the department.

According to Sheriff's officials, at least 12 vehicles were damaged when they ran over several fire hoses and couplings that had fallen off a Troy fire truck on the freeway. The extent of the damage ranged from tires, oil pans, transmission and bodies of the vehicles, but no injuries were reported.

Troy fire crews arrived at the scene to assess the damage and collect the remainder of the hose. Disabled vehicles were towed from the scene, the department indicated, and the Road Commission of Oakland County helped clean oils and fluids left in the roadway from the accidents.
