Police Blotter: Bar Fights, Purses Stolen from Cars and More

The following information was supplied by the Rochester Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A variety of drinking-related incidents highlight the past week of Rochester Police Department reports:

Group fight in alley

On Dec. 11 at approximately 2 a.m. a resident flagged a Rochester Police officer on street patrol, reporting a large group of people fighting in the parking lot near , a report stated. The officer arrived at the scene and observed several men fighting and requested backup. Once backup arrived, the officers separated the men and detained three of them: a 26-year-old Clarkston man, a 23-year-old Utica man and a 23-year-old Sterling Heights man, according to the report.

The three men were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and taken to the Rochester Police Department. They were given Personal Breathalyzer Test and held in custody according to their alcohol intoxication level before being released with citations, the report said.

Ejected man turns violent

A Rochester Police officer witnessed a 27-year-old Roseville man forcibly ejected from Main Street Billiards shortly after midnight Dec. 17, according to a police report. The officer attempted to arrest the man when he turned around and started screaming profanities and trying to fight the security personnel, the report said. 

The man resisted arrest and the officer pinned him at his police vehicle until additional officers arrived to assist, the report said. The man was arrested and cited for disorderly conduct.

Drunk woman skips bar tab

officers were dispatched to O’Connor’s Public House about 11:30 p.m. Dec. 11 on a report of a woman not paying her $12.19 bar tab.

According to the report, officers arrived and searched the area and discovered a woman matching the description hiding in the bathroom. A female employee assisted the officers in removing the 43-year-old Rochester woman from a stall. She was arrested and taken to the Rochester Police Department, the report states.

A Personal Breathalyzer Test revealed the woman had a .258 percent blood alcohol content, well over the .08 state limit for driving, according to the report, so she was held in custody until she recovered. The woman was cited for failure to pay for services and disorderly intoxication.

Purses stolen from cars outside gym

On Dec. 15 at about 6:30 p.m. a Rochester Police officer responded to a report from about a larceny from automobiles. Two women, a 37-year-old from Dryden and a 25-year-old from Rochester Hills, reported their passenger side windows smashed in and purses stolen, the report said. A stolen gym bag was found nearby on the as well. No witnesses were available.
