4 Arrested in Large-Scale Refund Fraud Case at Target

Sheriff's officials confiscate thousands of dollars, numerous merchandise items from four out-of-state men.

Four men were arrested Dec. 12 at Target at Rochester and Auburn roads in Rochester Hills for reportedly attempting fraudulent returns totaling thousands of dollars, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

According to the department, deputies were dispatched to the store after store personnel alerted Sheriff's officials to several men returning multiple exchanges for cash.

Four men were taken into custody and brought to the Rochester Hills substation for questioning and thousands of dollars in cash and numerous Target merchandise items were confiscated, the department indicated. According to the department, the investigation is ongoing. 

According to the department, the four men were not local to this area. A 30-year-old man from Trinidad was among those taken into custody, along with a 24-year-old, 23-year-old and 21-year-old from Brooklyn, NY.
