2 Arrested in Robbery of Money Courier at Rochester Hills McDonald's

Employee, accomplice arrested in connection with Jan. 7 robbery of a money courier outside a McDonald's on Rochester Road.

The following information was provided by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. Arrests do not indicate a conviction. 

Detectives from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester Hills Sub-Station, reported Tuesday they have arrested two men suspected of robbing a money courier at the McDonald’s restaurant at 808 Rochester Road in Rochester Hills in January, according to Oakland County Sheriff's Office officials.

At about 12:50 p.m. on Jan. 7, a man reportedly ran into a money courier for the Clarkston State Bank, knocking him to the ground causing the money bags to fall to the ground. Detectives say the suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Larry Marrioneaux of Macomb Township, took three of the money bags and fled west from the McDonald’s down a service drive.

Detectives from the Rochester Hills Sub-Station say a previous employee of McDonald’s, identified as 23-year-old Brandon King of Waterford, contacted a current employee checking to see if the courier had shown up at the store. King told the employee he needed $40 worth of change to do laundry. A short time later the courier was robbed, according to detectives. 

Detectives say they were able to connect Brandon King and Larry Marrioneaux to the robbery.

The report was submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office and warrants were issued for Larry Marrioneaux and Brandon King for Unarmed Robbery, according to detectives. 

According to detectives, investigators from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Brandon King at the 800 block of Williamsbury in Waterford Township. Larry Marrioneaux was arrested later in the area of the Westbridge Manor Mobile Home Park in Macomb Township with the assistance of the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, detectives said. King is being held at the Oakland County Jail and Marrioneaux is being housed at the Macomb County Jail on unrelated charges. 

Brandon King was arraigned at the 52-3 District Court before Magistrate Soma on the charge of Unarmed Robbery; King was given a $25,000 cash or surety bond. 

Larry Marrioneaux was arraigned on April 4, 2013 after being transferred back to Oakland County, at the 52-3 District Court before Magistrate Camargo also on the charge of Unarmed Robbery and was given a $15,000 bond. 

Unarmed Robbery is a felony punishable up to 15 years. 

Both King and Marrioneaux are scheduled for exam on April 17.
