The Doobie Brothers -- Takin' It to the Streets and to DTE Energy Music Theatre Friday Night

AUBURN HILLS, Mich -- More than 40 years after they formed and with more than 40 million albums sold, The Doobie Brothers take the stage at DTE Energy Music Theatre at 7:30 p.m on Aug. 30.

JJ Grey & Mofro will open the show with The Doobie Brothers closing the show with all of your old favorites and some of their newer work.

True fans will also enjoy "Let the Music Play – The Story Of The Doobie Brothers," a documentary chronicling the band's long career, which was released this past November. It tells the story of The Doobie Brothers from their beginnings in California in 1970.

The film features interviews with band members Patrick Simmons, Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald, John McFee, Tiran Porter, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, their manager Bruce Cohn and long term producer Ted Templeman. It also reveals the full story of the band’s highs and lows through four decades of their musical evolution.

Original members Pat Simmons and Tom Johnston and 30-year member John McFee released their latest album, World Gone Crazy, featuring a guest appearance by the legendary Willie Nelson in 2010. It produced the Top 20 track “Far From Home” and the Top 5 GAC Video “World Gone Crazy.” The single, “A Brighter Day,” reached #18 on the AC charts. Learn more at doobiebros.com.
