Fire Prevention Month Preschool Fire Station Visit

Today we visited the fire station on Horizon Ct. in Rochester Hills. We had signed up for the free preschool visit with RARA (Rochester Avon Recreation Authority). The kids were super excited right off the bat when they got their own fireman hats. The instructor then read a story, had kid volunteers practice "stop, drop & roll" and ended with a cute video with Sparky the Dog performing the ABC's of Fire Safety. Following the video we got to check out two fire trucks in the bay and an ambulance. The kids loved riding inside the fire truck and pretend driving with the steering wheel. It was a great intro to Fire Safety for my little ones and they loved the close up encounter with one of their favorite vehicles-the Firetruck.

Thanks to the Rochester Hills Fire Department for putting on an excellent program for our tots!

There is still one more day available to check out this 45 min fire station visit. Check out the info on the RARA website here: http://www.rararecreation.org/Events/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/2268/Preschool-Fire-Station-V...
