Slow Cooker Cinnamon French Toast Casserole

The easiest "French Toast" you'll ever make...and it's in the slow cooker too!

As promised last week, I'm giving you another great great breakfast option to come home to after church on Easter!  This is SOOOOO super easy.  It won't take you long to put together, and it won't take you long to eat it up!

You can personalize this by having different toppings to go on it: whipped cream, strawberry sauce, blueberry sauce, syrup, fresh fruit......endless possibilities!

When I first made this the texture was soggy.  This is an easy fix by letting your bread sit out for a few hours first to "dry out."  I didn't know that the first time I made it, but I've learned a lot since I started using my crock!

Cinnamon French Toast Casserole

Ingredints:
2 16oz. loaves cinnamon swirl bread, sliced into 1/4's and left to dry over night (or for a few hours)
1 dozen eggs
4 cups milk
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Spray the crock with non-stick spray!  Place all the bread in the slow cooker.
Mix all of the remaining ingredients together and pour it over the bread.

Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours.  Admire the smell while it cooks!  The last 1/2 hour or so, remove the lid to let the moisture absorb some. Dust with powdered sugar,a dollop of whipped cream and/or drizzle with syrup when serving! Mmmmmmmm!

How many does this serve. Any nutritional info?
Hope Comerford April 1, 2012 at 02:28 pm
It's been a while since I've made this, but if I recall correctly, this should serve about 6. I do not have nutritional information for you, sorry.

I suggest adding golden raisins and a little ginger. Pecans pieces are a possibility. It's pretty much the same as bread pudding. That is not meant as a negative.

That all sounds great Mackey! There's absolutely nothing wrong with adding what your family likes to recipes you find! That's part of the fun! ;)

Hugo... the road, bridge, road right of way: The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC)... theRead More aesthetic black fence... You could call the Mayor, but he is in Istanbul Turkey... looking over some plans for a new shopping mall they want to build in an historic park. Makes perfectly good sense this is the same Mayor who supported tearing down a historic house on Rochester Road to build a new strip mall... and turning Office Research Technology zoning into a Wal-Mart.

Yes I have been wondering too...I am going to use the RCOC website and see if they will respond
