Donate Toys to Children in Need at Meadow Brook Hall

Donations accepted at 42nd Meadow Brook Hall Holiday Walk through Dec. 23.

Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester is supporting The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit by collecting toys to benefit children in need in northern Oakland County as part of the 42nd Annual Meadow Brook Hall Holiday Walk.

Now through Dec. 15, Meadow Brook Hall visitors can drop off new, unwrapped toys for infants through 14-year olds to the Courtyard Shop. Individuals who purchase a toy to donate directly from the Courtyard Shop will receive a 10 percent discount on that item. Meadow Brook Hall’s Holiday Walk runs from Nov. 29 through Dec. 23.

Accompanying the toy drive this year will be a mini-exhibit, next to the vintage sleigh, highlighting Matilda Dodge-Wilson’s long time support of The Salvation Army. The display will include photos of Matilda’s many years of service with the nonprofit, which earned her The Salvation Army’s Distinguished Auxiliary Service Cross in 1947 and the William Booth Award from the Detroit Auxiliary of The Salvation Army in 1965.
