Big, Bright Lights Going Up on Fourth Street

After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Big, Bright Light Show is returning to Fourth Street.

Crews today strung lights across buildings along the downtown side street. The area was in danger of not being covered as part of this year's Big, Bright Light Show in downtown Rochester because of reduced funds for the Rochester Downtown Development Association. The DDA was able to raise $28,160 in pledges from 223 "backers" as part of its "Miracle on Fourth Street" Kickstarter campaign.

Today the DDA posted an update with the photo shown above.

"Yes, that is exactly what you think it is!  Those are lights being installed on Fourth Street, thanks to all of you!" the update read. "Yes, our installers are hard at work on this frigid, snow flying day.  But you know what they say, through rain and sleet and, oh, wait, I think that's the mail, but anyway you get the picture.  And speaking of pictures, they say one is worth a thousand words and couldn't think of a better way to show your donations in action!  Light up is just four weeks away!"

The Big, Bright Light Show will illuminate downtown on Dec. 2.
