12 Days of Christmas Music: An '80s Christmas

Totally rad! Check out these 1980s holiday hits.

Ahh, the 1980s. When a Nintendo Entertainment System or Cabbage Patch doll under the tree meant Christmas was a success. When A-list celebrities would team up for charity holiday singles. When gaudy Christmas sweaters weren't ironic.

Thanks in part to the birth of MTV, plenty of pop artists found success with holiday-tinged singles in the '80s, from Wham!'s "Last Christmas" to the unlikely pairing of legend Bing Crosby and edgy David Bowie ("Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth").

For the fifth in our 12 Days of Christmas Music series, we've assembled some top hits from the decade, as well as some hidden gems. You'll need Spotify to listen (download at Spotify.com).

Now the version of "Santa Baby" by famous by our hometown star, Madonna, wasn't available on Spotify, we've embedded the video below our playlist because it absolutely belongs.
