Paint Recycling Event

Shelby Paint and Decorating, in partnership with Ecowise, will hold a one-day latex paint recycling event Saturday, April 23 at its three Detroit-area locations in Shelby Township, Rochester Hills and Grosse Pointe Woods in celebration of Earth Day.

During the event, area residents can recycling old latex paint for a $5 fee per gallon, and receive a $5 coupon good towards a gallon of premium eco-friendly Benjamin Moore paint. The old latex paint will be re-blended into usable paint by Ecowise, a latex paint recycling company located in Wooster, Ohio and donated to local charities for re-use.

"Normally, to dispose of old paint, homeowners must take their paint to their city's recycling facility where the paint eventually ends up a landfill," said Brian Eisbrenner, owner of Shelby Paint and Decorating. “By bringing in old latex paint to one of our three locations on April 23, we will guarantee it does not go to a landfill and will also benefit local charities such as Habitat for Humanites.”
