Downtown Rochester Bake Sale

Back by popular demand, Rochester’s 2nd Annual Great American Bake Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon  Sept. 22 at the upper lot of the Downtown Rochester Farmers’ Market.

This community-wide bake sale will once again benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign. 

“The community response this year has been great, so far we’ve received commitment of nearly 350 dozen baked good donations, said Stephanie Schwager, Rochester Downtown Development Authority Events Coordinator.

As always we’re looking to make this year bigger and better than the last, so we’ve extended the deadline to allow more bakers to sign up. Those interested in donating baked goods to Rochester’s Great American Bake Sale should visit www.DowntownRochesterMI.com/events/bake-sale to download a donation form or submit their donation electronically.

The deadline to sign up for donations has been extended to Sept. 17.

Drop-off of baked goods will be held at 308 ½ Main on Friday, Sept. 21 from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sept. 22 from 6 a.m. – 8 a.m. 

Share Our Strength’s goal is to end childhood hunger in America. With your help, they believe this goal can be achieved by 2015.  Come on down and feed your need while contributing to a Great cause at the same time! In addition to the huge variety of baked goods available, the following family friendly activities will be offered: 

  • Kids’ Cupcake Decoration Station, Sponsored by Rockin Cupcakes: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Kids’ Cupcake Walk ($1 per walk): 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 a.m. & 12:30 p.m.
  • Chef’s Hat Decorating with PCCA: 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
  • Shelby’s Cake Decorating Demo: 10 a.m.–11 a.m.
  • Story time with RHPL: 10 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
  • Royal Park Hotel Pastry Chef Demo: 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
