RC Band Concert To Feature Music For The Holidays

Rochester College’s Music Department will present a concert featuring the Rochester College Concert Band on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m.

Among the featured selections will be Ralph Vaughan Williams’ masterwork, the rhythmic and powerful “Toccata Marziale,” as well as selections by Scott Joplin and David Holsinger. The second half of the program will feature music of the season including a delightful medley of the famous Alfred Burt carols, the haunting Huron Carol, music of J. S. Bach, and a visit from a very special musical guest.

The 70-member Rochester College Concert Band includes RC undergraduates and faculty, students from other area colleges, advanced high school musicians and adult community members. The group is directed by RC music instructor August J. Thoma, who is the retired director of bands at Rochester High School.
