The
Clinton River Muzzleloaders will hold their 26th annual Memorial
Shoot on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14-15, at the Detroit Sportsman’s Congress,
49800 Dequindre Road in Shelby Township.
This
two-day muzzle-loading event is held each year to honor the memory of those
fellow muzzle-loading enthusiasts who have passed on and is open to registered
competitors and the public, including sutlers.
Opening
ceremonies are Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m., followed by a rifle woods-walk, a
hawk and knife competition, a fire-starting demonstration, and a pistol woods-walk.
The day will conclude with awards and free refreshments.
The trade-gun
(smoothbore flintlock) woods-walk begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15,
followed by an awards ceremony.
Period
dress is requested for traditional arms shooters, and points will be awarded
for pre-1865 attire (including Civil War costumes).

Registration
for the weekend is $25 and includes spouse and juniors 15 and under. The daily
cost is $15 plus $1 for each junior 15 and under.
