Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration
“The Golden Rule” is the theme for this year’s annual
celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King,
Jr.‘s life and message of non-violence and equality, as well commemorating the
50th anniversary of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Rochester Community Schools and the Rochester
Area Ministerial Association are co-hosts of this community family
service. Please mark your calendars for
Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 620
Romeo Road, in Rochester Hills.
Our featured speaker will be The
Rev. Faith Fowler, who has been
both the Pastor of Cass Community United Methodist Church and the Executive
Director of Cass Community Social
Services (CCSS) in Detroit for 19 years. CCSS provides food, health, housing
and jobs in areas of concentrated poverty.
The service will be a wonderful weaving of hymns from adult
and children choirs, and will highlight the essay winners chosen from the
entries of local students. For more
