FUNDRASIER TO SUPPORT EDUCATION,
ADVOCACY AND ERADICATION OF BREAST CANCER

Find out what's happening in Rochester-Rochester Hillswith free, real-time updates from Patch.

The
Michigan Breast Cancer Coalition (MiBCC), a nonprofit breast cancer
advocacy organization, is hosting a Fashion Show and shopping
experience Saturday, April 26, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. The show
will be held inside Hickey Hall at St. Paul's United Methodist
Church, 620 Romeo Street, Rochester, MI 48307.

MiBCC’s
focus is on:  Educating, empowering and uniting all
stakeholders; and advocating in the public interest to improve care
and make breast cancer a state and national priority. We work to
persuade lawmakers to support research funding that focuses on how to
prevent breast cancer morbidity and mortality.

Why
is there a need for advocacy?

Breast
cancer is a political issue, as research funding levels and
priorities are determined by our lawmakers, and research may not be a
priority for them when their goal is to cut spending. Michigan
Breast Cancer Coalition is your voice in the politics of achieving an
end to breast cancer. Breast cancer in the U.S. is the most common
cause of cancer deaths in women age 40-59. A death from breast
cancer occurs in the U.S. every 14 minutes.
