WSU Family Medicine resident lecture series

Wayne State University Physician Group will present a resident lecture series to educate aging adults on important health topics. The lectures will take place Tuesday, Jan. 22 and Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Crittenton Wellness Center in Rochester.


Each lecture will feature an “Ask the Doc” discussion at 9:30 a.m. with a formal presentation beginning at 11 a.m. Hosted in conjunction with the Older Persons’ Commission of Rochester, attendance is free however Older Persons’ Commission membership guidelines apply.


On Jan. 22, Dr. Shirley Raveendran will present on the topic of using medication to improve quality of life. She will discuss the treatment benefits and risks of various highly prescribed groups of medication.

On Jan. 23, Dr. Jessica Black and Dr. Sayeeda Fatima will present a lecture on the topic of sleep. This presentation will focus on the relationship between sleep, health and disease.


The Crittenton Wellness Center at the Older Persons’ Commission is located at 650 Letica Drive in Rochester.
