On Friday afternoon Patch editor Jen Anesi happened upon Guardian Angel Cemetery as they were rearranging their "Field of Honor," which they designed as a Memorial Day tribute to Michigan's fallen troops. On the cemetery grounds were 245 flags and photo tributes. And on Rochester Patch were of the display.

A ceremony on Sunday brought veterans and others to the cemetery to pay tribute to those who have died. "The service is just a remembrance of all the people who have gone before us and are buried in our cemetery," Director Wendy Mann said. "It's just a really nice way to honor all of our loved ones."

Heritage Days brought old-fashioned fun to town on Saturday and Sunday. Our favorite photographs are the ones of the civil war re-enactors with white tents in the background. It almost makes us think this was a scene out of another time and place and not our very own .
