Weekend Planner: Spring on the Farm, Paint Creek Cycling and More

Here's a look at what's going on this weekend around Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township.


Where: Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm
When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday
Why go:
For family fun. The event will include animals, activities and demonstrations.
Pricing:
$7 per person (ages 2 and up); $5 for museum members.

Where: Rochester Hills Public Library
When:
10 a.m.- 8 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Why go:
To stock up on summer reading.
Pricing:
Most books are priced 50 cents or $1. On Sunday, everything you can fit in a bag is $5.

Where: The Village of Rochester Hills
When:
10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday; noon-6 p.m. Sunday
Why go:
The Village will line the street with fine arts and crafts for you to browse and buy. Food and kids' activities will also transform the outdoor shopping mall into an art fair.
Pricing:
Free to browse.


Where: Avon Players Theatre
When:
8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday
Why go:
The Avon Players presents a show about a couple who embark on an adventure and meet some fairy tale characters along the way. .
Pricing:
$18 per ticket.

Where: Along the Paint Creek Trail, starting and ending at the Paint Creek Cider Mill
When:
9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday
Why go:
For exercise and to help support future enhancements of the trail. Participants will earn "stamps" at various stops along the trail during the 20-mile roundtrip event.
Pricing:
Pre-register for $20 per person; it's $25 the day of the event.
