Weekend Planner: So Many Spooky Things To Do

Want to know what is happening around Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township this weekend before Halloween? Patch is here to help.

We have given you a few fun and festive fall and Halloween options for this weekend. Here is a recap:

  • Where/When: Water Street and E. Third Street, Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon
  • Cost: Free
  • Why go: Your kids can trick-or-treat at the Farmer's Market on the last day the market is open for the season. Grab some breakfast and get one last walk around for the season while your kids receive pre-Halloween treats.

  • Where/When: (at the Gazebo), Saturday from 2-4 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Why go: The Village of Rochester Hills will get spooky with a family costume parade and a Halloween scavenger hunt. Guests will also learn the dance from Michael Jackson's famous "Thriller" video during the festivities!

  • Where/when: , 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday.
  • Tickets: Tickets may be purchased at the box office, by phone or on the Avon Players website.
  • Cost: $15 for Friday and Saturday performances, $13 for Sunday matinee.
  • Why go: Based on the classic novel by Mary Shelley, this spooky tale is just in time for Halloween. Watch a young and inexperienced Dr. Frankenstein as he attempts to give life to a cadaver he bought from a grave robber. Of course, mayhem and destruction ensue.

  • Registration: None needed
  • Cost: Free
  • Why go: We have been focusing on spooky this week, and making and shaping pie crust could loosely fall into that category. The experts at Williams-Sonoma will teach you how to make pie crust like a pro; they'll also give you some tips and recipes that will wow your Thanksgiving company. Who doesn't love a homemade pie around the holidays (or any other time, for that matter)?
