Vote Today — and Every Day Until October — For Library Lego Prize

The Rochester Hills Public Library has fallen behind in national "Read! Build! Play" campaign. Can you help?

The  needs your help: a $5,000 grand prize is on the line, and all it takes is a quick online vote.

The national Read! Build! Play! campaign is sponsored by LEGO DUPLO and the Association for Library Service to Children and designed to promote early literacy.

The Rochester Hills library is in second place in the contest that will award one winning library a $5,000 grant to use toward early literacy projects.

As of Thursday night, RHPL had 12,598 votes; Mount Airy Public Library in North Caroline had 14,302.

Because the contest will run until Oct. 1, and because you can vote once a day, Rochester Patch has added a voting "reminder" to its daily calendar of events.

To cast your vote, visit the contest website at www.readbuildplay.com.

I have voted every day, and the library from NC came out of nowhere and is now over 2000 votes ahead! Please vote EVERYDAY, and remember you can vote from each way you have to access the internet (laptop, desktop, phone, etc). Also, please spread the word-you don't have to live in our area to vote for our library! Thanks!

If Mt. Airy can come from way behind (early this week they only had 2300 votes) to take the lead so can we! Remember to use every computer, smart phone and I-Pad you have to vote daily!

Mt. Airy appears to have really kicked in the organization, we're gonna need a real effort to get back into first.
