Viewfinder: Scenes From a Snowplow Ride Through Rochester Hills

About two-thirds of the city's streets were plowed this morning; we rode along as one driver finished his route.

When Rochester Hills turns into a snowglobe, Jeff Fox is right there in the middle of all of the winter fun.

He was one of about 35 drivers who has worked on and off since 7:30 Tuesday night clearing the roads around town. Fox is a pro — he's been doing this for 11 years. He has his pet peeves ("don't shovel your snow into the street") and his warnings ("don't drive right behind us — we back up").

But most of all, he has pride in what he's doing. "I feel a personal ownership over these streets — all of us do," he says. "We do the best we can."
