Sun Shines on AdvoKate Charity Run & Walk
Over 800 members of the community participated in the 5K, 10K or 1-mile walk this weekend.
The skies were sunny over downtown Rochester on Saturday morning for the fifth annual Charity Run & Walk.
"Kate always comes through," said Colleen Hrischuk, the race organizer and mom to race namesake Kate, who died in 2007 after a battle with brain cancer.
More than 800 runners and walkers participated in the race.

The first male 5K runner to cross the finish line was Anthony Pavicic of Sterling Heights with a time of 17 minutes, 13 seconds. Lauren Miller of Troy had a time of 22 minutes, 29 seconds and was the first female to cross the finish line.
Dan Lucas of Grand Ledge was the first to complete the 10K with a time of 35 minutes, 7 seconds, and Kristie Slowke of Shelby Township crossed in 40 minutes, 3 seconds for the top female time.
