Summer Day 68: Bake an Apple Pie, Then Enter the Art & Apples Baking Contest

Day 68: Bake an apple pie

If you've got apples and an oven, you're invited to bake your way to fame at Rochester's upcoming Art & Apples Festival. Why not practice today?

Organizers of the festival, planned for Sept. 9-11, are inviting bakers to submit an apple pie or dessert. Download an application at www.ArtandApples.com. The nonrefundable application fee is $5 and must be submitted by Sept. 6. All proceeds benefit Paint Creek Center for the Arts.

First-, second- and third-place winners in each category will receive a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted dessert or pie dish and first-place winners will have their recipe featured in the 2012 Art & Apples Festival event guide.
