Summer, Day 62: Buy, Read and Donate a Book

After you read the latest best-seller, consider giving it to the library to help put more of the most-requested titles in circulation.

There are 94 days of summer, from June 21-Sept. 22. Along the way, Rochester Patch will offer something unique to do every day.

Day 62: Buy, read and give a book

So you saw the movie The Help, and now you want to read the book? Well, take a number: At last check, the had 25 copies of the Kathryn Stockett novel, and all were checked out. Not only that, but there are 66 "holds" in front of you.

For those of you who can't handle being No. 67, buy the book. Then, after you read it, consider donating it to the library so that it can have more books in circulation. The library will give you a tax receipt for your donation — and you'll be able to get on with your summer reading.
