Snow in Forecast, More Signs of the Season in Rochester

Seriously? Snow? Well, it's not the only sign of winter around town.

Brrr, it's chilly today all of a sudden. Here are some more signs winter is coming:

The gazebo is ready for Santa

He arrives at the next Friday, Nov. 18. That's when the Village, with help from city leaders and community members, will flip the switch on the lights and kick off the holiday shopping. Earlier this week, staff of decorated the gazebo for the season.

The lights are going up

We've all seen the . They're also lighting up Rochester Road on the outside of . And they're being installed in yards across town: on the Rochester Patch Facebook page we heard from a few readers who took advantage of the sunny days last weekend to hang their outdoor lights. One such reader was Brent W., who reminded us of this amazing display just north of Walton and west of Adams. We can't wait to check this out!

On the radio

At least two Metro Detroit radio stations are playing all Christmas, all the time: WNIC-FM "Fresh" 100.3 and WMGC-FM "Magic" 105.1. As we wrote this, the last three songs to play on Magic were "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" by Bruce Springsteen, "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole and "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Vanessa Williams.

Your coffee in a holiday cup

Even though is still featuring the Pumpkin Spice Latte, it is serving those fall drinks in a red reindeer cup. For sale inside the coffee shops: Starbucks Christmas Blend and Starbucks Christmas Espresso Roast.

Finally, the weather

You'll need coffee and more to deal with this forecast: there's a chance of rain and snow showers today and Friday. The high temperature over the next two days? Only 44 degrees.
