Rochester Will Hear From DTE Tonight

Rochester residents will have a chance to hear from DTE Energy tonight as representatives from the energy company come before Rochester City Council to discuss recent complaints of power outages in the city.

City council meets at 7:30 p.m.; members of the public are invited to attend.

DTE representatives are expected to respond specifically to concerns about power problems at the , as well as problems at , and the Rochester Medical Plaza on Main Street.

In a report to city council members in advance of the meeting, "a review of actual data and comparison to performance criteria reveals that there are no chronic outage or voltage problems in the city of Rochester at this time," DTE concluded.

Also on the agenda tonight:

• Appointment of election inspectors.
• The purchase of a front-end loader for $112,000.
• A report from managers of the Rochester Community Garden about plans for Phase 2 of the garden next year.
• Consideration of the budget for 2012. At previous meetings, council members expressed concerns about proposed salary increases in the budget.
• A request from the Rochester Historical Commission for $11,560 to be used for a catalog and storage room for historical artifacts and also for two display cases inside Rochester City Hall.
