UPDATE: Rain One Minute, Sun the Next as Area Under Storm Watch
Wind gusts, heavy downpours and hail predicted.
Update: 3:15 p.m. A 10-minute shower appears to be over and the sun is shining again.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 10 p.m. for Oakland County.
1 p.m. A 25-minute downpour is over and the birds are singing around Rochester.

However, the National Weather Service warns that more, similar storms are likely today.
"Numerous" thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening, according to the Pontiac office of the weather service. According to a statement, "The strongest storms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts to 70 mph and hail."

The potential for isolated tornadoes and flash flooding exists, as usual in a moist environment right before an approaching cold front, the hazardous weather outlook stated.
Cold front? Well, tomorrow the forecast calls for a high of 61 degrees.
12:15 p.m.: The National Weather Service is warning of a line of rapidly developing thunderstorms that is headed toward Oakland County.
A special weather statement was posted just before noon; the storms were predicted to include 30 mph wind gusts, occasional cloud-to-ground lightning and heavy downpours. They were predicted to reach the Rochester area by 12:30 p.m.
"Gusty winds may cause small objects such as trash bins to blow around," the weather service warned in a statement. "Stay away from high objects outdoors such as trees. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure until these storms have passed."
According to forecasts, showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue on and off through Monday and into early Tuesday.
