Just In Time For Town's Ice Fest, a Snow Day in Rochester Today

About 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected to accumulate today.

Superintendent Fred Clarke's voice greeted Rochester parents before the sun rose Friday morning announcing the town's first snow day of the 2011-12 school year.

The closing was attributed to hazardous road conditions, Clarke said. As of 6:00 a.m. there were more than 125 delays and closings reported across southeast Michigan.

Holy Family Regional School, St. John Lutheran School and Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest are also closed today. Oakland University is already closed because of winter break.
