Event raises $22,000 for Rochester Community Schools.

More than 1,150 runners and walkers braved the cold early Saturday to traverse the 5K course set by the eighth annual Hometown Hustle in Rochester.

The Hometown Hustle is the only event-based fundraiser for the Rochester Community Schools Foundation, which provides grants for classrooms in the Rochester district. Debra Hartman, spokesperson for both the district and foundation, said this year's event raised about $22,000 for Rochester classrooms.

Eric Lohr, a physics and wilderness survival teacher and track and field coach at Adams High School, paced all runners with his 16:39 finish.
