Here's Why That Avon Road Right Turn Lane is Still Closed

What's up with the right turn lane onto Livernois?
That lane is still closed — as it has been for almost two years, when the bridge was first found to be in a deteriorating state.

With the nearby Livernois Bridge closed, there is essentially only one lane of traffic still getting through on Avon Road.

We reached out to the Road Commission for Oakland County. Officials there said there was a problem with a guardrail that was planned at the corner. They are currently working on a replacement guardrail — and it's not known how soon that will be installed.
