Help the Rochester Hills Library Win $5,000!

The local library is in the running to win a grant and needs the community's votes.

Hey Rochester, the needs your votes!

13,000 nominations have been cast nationwide, and one local library will have a chance at winning a $5,000 grand prize. 

Maintaing a spot in the top three of the contest, the RHPL is looking to the community for help.

Sponsored by LEGO DUPLO and the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), who have partnered with the Read! Build! Play! project, the contest will run until October 1.

Early literacy is the misson of the Read! Build! Play! campaign. The Rochester Hills Public Library offers many services and materials that help prepare a child to read including promoting the skills of talking, singing and writing.

“From the enthusiasm we’ve seen so far for voting, I know people will rally behind us to win this prize for the kids,” said Jacyln Miller, manager of the library's Youth Services department.

If the library wins the $5,000 grant or the second prize DUPLO toolkit, it will be able to add even more variety to its children's activities and Explore Zone play area.
