Can you help win a $100,000 grant?

You've been voting for the in a separate , but this time, Spencer Park needs your help too.

The Rochester Hills recreational facility has been entered in Coca-Cola's third annual 'America is Your Park' campaign. 

The contest is calling citizens across the U.S. to vote for their favorite park this summer, helping it win the title of "America's Favorite Park". The first prize winner will receive a $100,000 recreation grant from the soft drink company, with second and third prize receiving $50,000 and $25,000, respectively. A random $15,000 grant will also be awarded to a park that comes in 4th-25th place on the leaderboard by the contest's end.

Voting ends July 15 so make every vote count!

If Spencer Park wins, the money will be used to enhance and rebuild the park's activity areas.

How to vote:

  • One vote can be cast at a time by going to Coca-Cola's Facebook page
  • 100 votes can be cast if you "check in" to Spencer Park on the Foursquare mobile application through Facebook

Important note: When voting, please search for "Thelma G. Spencer Park", as other Spencer Park's are also in the running.

Sorry, but in my opinion Spencer Park is not one of the best parks in the area. Plus with living in Rochester, It costs $10 to get it!

I live in Rochester and I think Spencer is great! Since Stoney took their life guards away, I feel Spencer is still safe and clean.

We love Spencer Park! Also, I believe you can vote as many times as you want. I just voted 10 times (just keep clicking "Vote Again") and moved us up in the rankings!

Spencer Park, yes it is expensive to get in wethere one is a resident or not, as i am. however, it is one of the cleanest swimming places around here! stony creek is a large park, but the water is disgusting.

The park is one of the treasures in Rochester Hills just like the lady that the park was named after.
