Happy St. Patrick's Day, Rochester!

"St. Patrick's Day in Rochester is the best because of all the fun places to celebrate," reader Jennifer C. said. "O'Connors is the best choice for St. Pattie's Day of course, but once you're done there you have many other great options within walking distance."

This week, Rochester Patch readers voted the aforementioned as the in Rochester. Doors open at 7 a.m. at O'Connor's; breakfast is served until 10 a.m. There's a 4,000-square-foot tent, DJs, live music and dancing throughout the day, with five bars serving up green beer and other drink specials. Cover is $10.

Here's what else is going on around town today:

: Doors open 8 a.m. and The Mills is serving up $2 breakfast burritos until 11 a.m. The extensive Irish menu includes Potato Leek and Bacon & Cabbage Soup, Boxty, Steamed Mussels, Irish Stew and Stout Brownie Sundaes. Drink specials include $2 Jell-O shots and Jager bombs. Live music will be playing from 3 to 7 p.m. and 9 to 11:30 p.m. There's no cover charge.

: Doors open at 7 a.m., and Paradime, billed as the "official DJ for Kid Rock, is in charge of the dance floor from noon to 6 p.m.

: From 7 to 10 a.m. the sports bar will host its Kegs & Eggs party, which includes all-you-can-drink green beer, a breakfast buffet and a green t-shirt. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. At 10 a.m. the bar opens to the public with $3 Jameson shots, $5 Irish car bombs, a DJ and a heated patio.

: Doors open at 7 a.m., when the day begins with 75-cent pints. The price goes up a quarter every hour until it hits $3.50 (that's 6 p.m.).

: Corned Beef and Cabbage is on the menu both Friday and Saturday, as is Authentic Irish Stew made with Guinness beer.

: The deck will be open at the downtown restaurant. There's no cover and live music.

At the drive-thru: French fries are free at Burger King on Saturday and Sunday, and they'll come with a special green St. Paddy's Day dipping sauce from Heinz. And don't forget McDonald's: They're serving up their special Shamrock Shakes.
